I have been busy moving house and spending time with family over the break but have finally unpacked the technics, sorted the records and got my new studio up and running. Here is version 3. Have gone for a more head nodding 110bpm mix this time. I spent about 2 weeks trying to get the perfect mix to you guys and then realised that it defeated the purpose of Digging Deep. The purpose being that I wanted the mixes to be free flowing and not pre-planned and programmed. I find this will force me the better my mixing skills. So, I took out all my low tempo tracks and played them in the order I thought would work. One take. Hope you like it.

Second mix in the monthly Digging Deep series. This is a bit of a weird one and goes in a few directions. Starts of with the signature Digging Deep sound, warm, mellow and soft. It then slowly goes into a darker, spacier place, then out into Tech House territory. Now, after that I don’t know what happened. I went on a bit of a stroll down memory lane and it finishes with a few classic. I hadn’t planned this at all but it seemed right at the time. If the Brian Eno track doesn’t give the dirty raver in you goose bumps, then it was probably never in you to begin with :P

Also, a slight break in the middle as the laptops decided to shut down mid mix. I got it back up and running straight away so it only missed a small section.

100% vinyl again, old and new, with some of the usual analogy slip ups here and there, but hey, that keeps in sounding a bit more real eh? Hope you enjoy it’s meanderings.

I have started off a new monthly series of Podcasts. Indulging in my vinyl addiction I will be playing/mixing alot of the slow and low deep house tracks doing the rounds. First mix is ready for download. Lots of off centre tracks. Kinda mellow and a bit off the danceable path. 100% vinyl. I would love to hear your feedback on this new direction I’m taking. I’m also thinking of doing a bit of talking over it, kinda like a radio podcast introducing tracks etc. So let me know if you think thats a good idea.
